We are a welcoming Catholic community called by God to live out the message of Christ in love and service to all people. Our parish mission is:
To proclaim the Gospel of Christ to our local community in word, deed, and truth.
St Joseph Parish occupies the northwest corner of the Diocese of Lake Charles and is the largest in size of all the Diocese's 36 parishes, encompassing all of Beauregard Parish, except for the southern community of Ragley. Geographically, St Joseph's has been on the periphery of the state's Catholic centers, first being ministered to by priests on horseback, then by train with the Chapel Car. (See the "About our Parish" for more information on our early church.) In 1938 St Joseph's was officially established as a Canonical Parish and entrusted to the Missionaries of LaSalette. It continued under the LaSalettes until the year 2000 when it became part of the Diocese of Lake Charles. Now 84 years later, our parish has grown to over 600 families and enrolls over 250 students in the Religious Education It is served by a number of organizations. Find more information about those organizations under the Ministries Page. St Joseph's completed an $800,000.00 renovation in 2011; the first since it was built in 1966. Through the faithful, generous fulfillment of pledges and donations of parishioners and the diligent efforts of Fr. Jude, the debt incurred by the renovation was paid off in March at the Jubilee Celebration. Come see the beautiful renovation and experience our Spirit.
